. _? . <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 85- 120 <br />, <br />BY: - , <br />AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE COSTS FOR <br />EMERGENCY REPAIR TO THE SETTLING TANKS AT THE WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE <br />TO PAY FOR SAME AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, with the construction of the addition to the sewage treatment <br />plant the Service Director became aware of the fact that there were certain <br />necessary repairs that were required with respect to the settling tanks; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, upon learning that the emergency repairs were necessary the <br />Director of Public Service with the assistance of the Superintendent of the <br />Wastewater Treatment Plant hired the services of Blast Cleaning Company to <br />perform said work; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City requires public bidding with respect <br />to purchase of goods or services in excess of $5,000.00; and <br />WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Director of Public Service the work <br />performed in the instant case was of an emergency nature and the public <br />bidding requirements of law could not be followed; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council wishes to ratify and confirm the emergency work <br />that was performed on the settling tanks at the sewage treatment plant. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council does hereby ratify and confirm the <br />expenditure of $9,800.00 to Blast Cleaning Company for services performed <br />in the emergency maintenance repair of the settling tanks located at the <br />sewage treatment plant. <br />SECTION 2: That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized <br />to pay to Blast Cleaning Conpany the sum of $9,800.00. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is imraediately <br />necessary to pay for services rendered in the emergency situation that <br />existed at the sewage treatment plant, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by <br />the Mayor. <br />PASSED: G ll jr-5- <br />ATTEST: <br />? <br />? ? <br />LORENCE E.
