CITY OF NORTH OLN6TED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 85 - 86 <br />PAGE 2 <br />(A) Si n- a structure or part thereof, or any device <br />attached to or painted directly or indirectly on <br />a structure or parcel of land, and which shall <br />display or include any letter, model, banner, <br />pennant, insignia, device or other representation <br />to direct attention to a person, institution, <br />organization, activity, place, object, product <br />or business. <br />('B) Ty peof Signs - Content - Signs are herein <br />classi ie according o contents and use as follows: <br />1. Bulletin Board. An annotmcement sign directing <br />attention anlocated on the lot of a pulilic or <br />semi-public institution. <br />2. Business. A sign which directs attention to <br />ti?Te name of a business or establishment, the <br />goods or connnodities sold and/or services <br />rendered on the lot on which the sign is <br />located. <br />3. Directional - A sign indicating the direction to <br />w ic attention is called and on the same lot. <br />4. General Advertisi? - A'sign directing attention <br />to t e name o a service or industrial establish- <br />ment, goods produced or sold, or service rendered <br />on the lot on which the sign is located. <br />5. Name late - A sign indicating the name, address <br />anor profession of the person or persons <br />occupying a lot. <br />6. Real Estate and DeveTapment -- A sign directing <br />attention to t e promotion, development, rental, <br />sale or lease of property on wliich it is <br />located, or a sign indicating the name, owner, <br />or manager of a development. <br />7. Service and Tndustrial - A sign directing <br />attention to t e name of a serviee or industrial <br />establishment, goods produced or sold, or service <br />rendered on the lot on which the sign is located. <br />(C) nTe of Sign - Desi?n. Signs are herein classified <br />and defined, according to design, as follows: <br />1. Flat or Wall - A sign erected parallel to, or <br />painte on t e surface, or integral with the wa.ll <br />of any building. <br />2. Mar uee - A sign attached to tfie soffit or fascia <br />orquee, roof over a walk or permanent <br />awning. <br />3. Mobile - A street sign painted on or attached to <br />veFicles that are not used in tfie normal course <br />of busi.ness and which remain stationary on the <br />praperty and street signs motmted on trailers or <br />other towable vehicles.
