_ _.1?.,..._ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 85-72 <br />BY: <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO <br />CONTINUE TO PAY THE SALARY OF MR. BOB PIZICKETT OF THE <br />SERVICE DEPARTMENT UP THROUGH AND INCLUDING JANUARY l, <br />1986 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Bob Prickett has been an employee of the City of North <br />Olmsted for approximately 15 years and during that period of time has <br />provided excellent service to the City; and <br />WHEREAS, in the fall of 1984, Mr. Prickett had serious medical <br />problems requiring hin to use all of the accumulated sick time that he had <br />gained over the years; and <br />WHEREAS, in all of the years that Mr. Prickett worked at the City he <br />was very conscientious and very seldom used his accumulated sick time; and <br />WHEREAS, because of the fact that Mr. Prickett is currently age 61 <br />years and is not entitled to Social Security until January 1, 1986, and <br />further he has not accumulated enough P.E.R.S. pension to effectively <br />sustain himself on the pension, it is the desire of this Council to <br />continue Mr. Prickett's salary until January 1, 1986, so that he can avail <br />himself at that time of both Social Security and P.E.R.S. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTEll, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: This Council does hereby authorize and direct the Director <br />of Finance of the City of North Olmsted to continue to pay Mr. Bob Prickett <br />until January l, 1986. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an gnergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason that the accumulated sick <br />time has now been exhausted and it is immediately necessary to authorize <br />the additional pay as specified in this Ordinance, and further provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED:? <br />v v <br />ATTEST: <br />jdz?
