CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 85- 59 <br />BY: Mrs. Petrigac <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THOMAS NEFF, CUYAOGA COUNTY <br />ENGINEER TO DIRECT THE CONTRACTOR ON DOVER CENTER <br />ROAD PROJECT TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE RESIDENTS AND <br />BUSINESSES ON DOVER CENTER ROAD WHEN ANY SERVICES <br />IN THAT AREA ARE GOING TO BE INTERRUPTED AS A <br />RESULT OF THE AFORESAID PROJECT AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has on a number of occasions received complaints <br />from residents and businesses along Dover Center Road where the same is <br />being reconstructed to the effect that the contractor has not properly <br />notified the residents and businesses with respect to the interruption of <br />various services to those located on Dover Center Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has no direct relation with the <br />contractor and the Cuyahoga County Engineer does; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council would urge the County Engineer to direct the <br />contractor, Griffith Blacktop, Inc, to notify in writing the various <br />residences and businesses along Dover Center Road any time that there is <br />going to be an interruption of mail delivery or that the driveways to the <br />homes and businesses are going to be inaccessible due to construction and <br />also at anytime that the utilities are to be interrupted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: This Council does hereby urge the Cuyahoga County Engineer <br />to adopt directives with respect to the contractor on the Dover Center Road <br />project, thereby directing said contractor to communicate with the <br />residents and businesses on Dover Center Road in writing, with respect to <br />any interruption of utilities, together with interruptions causing <br />inaccessibility to the property because of construction, as well as <br />interruptions to mail service. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk be and she is hereby directed to forward a <br />copy of the Resolution to Thomas Neff, Cuyahoga County Engineer. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution shall be and the same hereby is <br />declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate <br />preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City <br />and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to eliminate <br />the adverse effects that the construction project is having on residents of <br />Dover Center Road and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-third (2/3) of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and <br />be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST: <br />CAMPBELL, CLERK <br />e <br />? <br />W.
