CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0. 85- 16 BY: 6 , AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE OF THE CITY OF NOP.TH OLMSTED FOR THE TERM OF OFFICE COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1986 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1989 AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AS AMEPIDED. WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, at Article IV, Section 6, requires the Council to fix the compensation for all elected officials at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing date of nominating petitions for terms beginning on the next succeeding lst day of January;and WHEREAS, the date for filing nominating petitions for elected officials in the City of North Olmsted is April 5, 1985; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish the compensation for all elected officials in compliance with the Charter requirements. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the salary to be paid to the Director of Finance for the term commencing January 1, 1986 and ending December 31, 1989 shall be as follows: Effective January 1, 1986 through December 31, 1987 $33,500.00 per year Effective January l, 1988 through December 31, 1989 $36,000.00 per year SECTION 2: That in addition to the salary specified in Section 1 hereof, the City of North Olmsted shall pay full hospitalization coverage on a family plan with either Blue Cross and Medical Mutual or the Kaiser Health Foundation or any other hospitalization plan which may be designated by Council. SECTION 3: That the compensation as specified in Sections 1 and 2 hereof are being established only for the purpose of complying with the Charter requirements as outlined in Article IV, Section 6, and in no way affect any of the other provisions of any ordinance relating to the organizational chart of either administrative or legislative officers. SECTION 4: That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to comply with the requirements of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted regarding the establishment of salaries at least Thirty (30) days prior to the filing of nominating petitions, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
