I <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 86 - 125 <br />By; MAYOR PETRIGAC <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, TO <br />EXTEND THE EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH BFI FOR A ONE (l) XEAR PERIOD <br />FOR REFUSE PICKUP WITHIN THE CITY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City heretofore has had a contract with BFI with respect to the <br />refuse service for the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the specifications, when bid four (4) years ago, include a pro- <br />vision that, on agreement of the parties, the contract could be extended on a <br />yearly basis; and <br />WHEREAS, BFI has agreed with the City to extend the agreement for an <br />additional one (1) year period from January 1, 1987, through December 31, 1987, <br />at the same price per residential unit per month; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Service Director and Mayor this <br />Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City ta extend said agreement. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed to <br />confirm the Council's desire to extend the current agreement with BFI for refuse <br />pickup within the City for an additional one.(1) year period from January 1, 1987, <br />through December 31, 1987. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance.is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, <br />and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to ratify the extension <br />of time so as to comply with the notice requirements in the current contract, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two -thirds of all members elected <br />to Council it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: <br />a? <br />ATTEST: <br />- <br />ffORENCE E.
