CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 86- 124 <br />BY: MR. 0'GRADY <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE <br />CITY TO PROVIDE FOR THE ELIMINATION OF THE TRAFFIC <br />SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD AND <br />OLD COLUMBIA ROAD AND FURTHER TO PROVIDE FOR THE <br />INSTALLATION OF A"STOP" SIGN ON THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF <br />BUTTERNUT RIDGE AND COLUMBIA ROAD TO CONTROL TRAFFIC <br />TRAVELLING IN AN EASTERLY DIRECTION ON BUTTERNUT RIDGE <br />ROAD, AND DECLARING AN IIMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has recommended to the City <br />Council that the traffic signal controlling traffic at the intersection of <br />Butternut Ridge Road and Old Columbia Road is no longer necessary due to <br />the decrease in the traffic at said intersection which is a direct result <br />of the opening of relocated Route 252; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the City Engineer that the <br />traffic control device be replaced with a stop sign to be located at the <br />southwest corner of Butternut Ridge Road where the same intersects with Old <br />Columbia Road thereby controlling traffic travelling in an easterly <br />direction on Butternut Ridge Road; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance <br />of a traffic control file which file may be amended by ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Police Department be and they are herby authorized <br />to amend the traffic control file of the City of North Olmsted to indicate <br />therein the removal of the traffic control device located at the aforesaid <br />intersection and to replace the same with a stop sign located at the <br />southwest corner of Butternut Ridge Road where the same intersects with Old <br />Columbia Road thereby controlling traffic travelling in an easterlp <br />direction on Butternut Ridge Road. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to cause the traffic control signal to be removed at the aforesaid <br />intersection and replace the same with a stop sign consistent with Section <br />1 hereof. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
