<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 86-112 <br />BY: RONALD WILAMOSKY <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF PART-TIME CITY <br />PLANNER WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATIVE CHART OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted pursuant to Article <br />IV, Section 14 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted is charged with <br />the task of enacting zoning ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to hire the assistance of <br />a City Planner to give special attention to areas of the City that have <br />potential for development, such as the commercially zoned area West of <br />Porter Road to the Citq line and areas South of I-480 between Columbia and <br />Kennedy Ridge; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council that the City Planner provide <br />the advice to Council in carrying out the mandates of the Charter relative <br />to the Zoning Code; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council in recent years has been made aware of the fact <br />that there are certain areas that must be reviewed with respect to the <br />existing Zoning Code, more in particular, areas of front set back, side <br />yard and rear yard buffers, the establishing of greater green landscaped <br />areas and the adequacey of parking as well as the regulation of lighting <br />eminating from commercial property; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council is of the opinion that the residents will best be <br />served if the ordinance is adopted by Council relating to zoning, have the <br />input of a professional City Planner so as to preserve the general health, <br />safety and welfare of the community; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to establish a position <br />within the administrative chart of Council a part-time City Planner. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there is hereby established within the administrative <br />chart of the City Council, the position of a City Planner. Said position <br />shall be a part-time position, the Citp Council shall, by majority vote <br />upon motion, appoint a City Planner to so advise the City Council the <br />compensation will be established by a majority vote upon motion of the City <br />Council and shall be appropriated by separate ordinance.
