CITY OF NQRTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0, $6 - 68 <br />BY: MR. RADEMAKER <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING DON COPELAND <br />TO MAKE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 1986, AND DECLARING AN AMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council, after public hearing, has determined that the <br />City of North Olmsted qualifies for Community Block Grant Funds; and <br />WHEREAS, this City has designated two projects which are deserving <br />of being funded through Community Block Grant Funds; and <br />WHEREAS, said projects consist of designating $160,000.00 for <br />housing rehabilitation and a1so, $40,000.00 for the establishment of a <br />shuffleboard recreation area, located in the North 0lmsted Park, which is <br />adjacent to an improvement target area; and <br />WHEREAS, the City recognizes that it is necessary to adopt an <br />Ordinance indicating there is authority to apply for said Community Block <br />Grand Funds. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize and direct <br />Don Copeland to apply for Community Block Grant Funds for fiscal year <br />1986 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. Included in the application <br />shall be the aforesaid projects. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason it is immediately necessary <br />for the City to file an application for Community Block Grant F'unds on or <br />before July 18, 1986, and further, provided it receives the affirmative <br />vote of two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: a-' <br />ATTEST: <br />F ORENCE E.
