'4_.R. <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 86 - 16 <br />BY: Mayor Petrigac & Entire Council <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CONTINUANCE OF THE REVENUE <br />SHARING PROGRAM BY THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES <br />OF AMERICA AND THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has been the recipient of <br />certain Revenue Sharing Funds allocated to the City by the Govern- <br />ment of the United States of America for many years past, from which <br />funds have come important and necessary support to the projects, <br />services and functions of the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the continued receipt of such Revenue Sharing Funds <br />by the City of North Olmsted is an exceedingly important factor in <br />maintaining the financial integrity of the City by providing many <br />and various services of government to all of the members of the <br />community; and <br />WHEREAS, recent activity by the Congress of the United States <br />has placed the Revenue Sharing Program in grievous jeopardy of serious <br />and major reduction, or termination, of the same; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />SECTION l. That this Council and the Administration of the City <br />strongly urges the Government of the United States of America, and the <br />Administrative and Legislative Authority thereof, to maintain the <br />Revenue Sharing Fund Programs between the federal government and indi- <br />vidual municipalities suhh as the City of North Olmsted, Ohio, intact, <br />and without major reduction of the funds available to be shared with <br />such municipalities, by reason of the substantial need for such funds <br />at the local level to provide the services of government requested and <br />necessary to the citizens of the city. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she hereby is, <br />authorized and directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution <br />to the President of the United States, the President of the Senate, <br />the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senators Glenn and <br />Metzenbaum, Representatives Eckart, Feighan, Oakar and Stokes, the <br />Mayors of Brook Park, Fairview Park, Lakewood, Berea, Middleburg <br />Heights, North Royalton, Parma, Parma Heights, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted <br />Township, Rocky River, Strongsville, and Westlake, and such other in- <br />terested parties as the Clerk may deem appropriate.
