Wilamosk <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 86 - 10 <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE CLEVELAND WATER DEPARTMENT <br />TO EXTEND A 16-INCH WATER LINE WESTWARD FROM THE <br />FITCH ROAD SUPPLY MAIN TO THE WESTERN END OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND NORTHWARD ALONG BARTON <br />ROAD TYfNG IN TO THE EXISTING BARTON ROAD WATER <br />MAIN, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has been made aware of the water pressure <br />problems at the southwestern end of the City of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has required the completion <br />of a 12-inch water line connecting the Lorain Road and Barton Road <br />lines as part of the proposed improvements in the area, and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Cleveland has proposed water system <br />improvements for the western suburbs, including the City of North <br />Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, Council is desirous of alleviating water pressure and <br />water supply problems being experienced in the western segment of the <br />City of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, The City of Cleveland has agreed that the extension of a <br />16-inch water line westward from Fitch Road would increase water pressure <br />and water supply to the area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council feels that the improvement of water <br />service to the southwestern area of the City of North Olmsted is of <br />utmost priority to the community. <br />SECTION 2: That this Council urges The Cleveland Water Department <br />to approve the project to install the 16-inch Cook Road water main west- <br />ward to Barton Road and northward along Barton Road to the existing <br />12-inch water main. <br />SECTION 3: That thisResolution is hereby declaXed ta be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the pulalic healtht <br />safety and welfare and for the further reason that. watez pressure is ex - <br />tremely low and not adequate to meet the watez needs of the immediate <br />neighborhood.
