~., ,,~ <br />«~ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />ORDINANCE N0. 87- 110 <br />BY: Mayor Petriga.c <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO <br />PURCHASE A USED, 1984 FORD TO BE USED BY THE PARKS AND <br />RECREATION DIVISION, ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS, RATHER THAN <br />BY PUBLIC BIDDING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGE[CY. <br />.~; ^_ <br />WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director has had occasion to investigate <br />availability of trucks on the open market and. has found a source consistent <br />with the specifications at a cost less than anticipated; and <br />WHEREAS, the vehicle in question is a used, 1984 Ford 250 4x4, is unique <br />to Parks and Recreation needs, and is of good value; and <br />WF~REAS, it has been determined that the vehicle can. be purchased for <br />Seven Thousand, Three Hundred Dollars ($7,300) from Mike Beck located at <br />3857 Canterbury in Westlake, Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council is aware of the desperate need for the aforesaid <br />vehicle to replace a 1980, one ton, high-maintenance cost vehicle. <br />NOW, THEREE'ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL .OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to purchase a 1984 Ford 250 4x4 .in the approximate. amount of Seven.. Thousand, <br />Three Hundred Dollars ($7,300) and enter into the appropriate agreement for <br />same. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared an. emergency and <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and <br />..,welfare, and for the plowing of snow-and other-daily activities required 3n <br />the Parks and Recreation Division's workload, and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of.two-thirds of`al:l members elected to Council, it <br />shall .take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />~• ~/~. <br />J~dET A.
