~. ,. , <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 87- 108 <br />BY: THOMAS O'GRADY <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED PROVIDING FOR "NO PARKING" ON BOTH <br />SIDES OF BUTTERNUT RIDGE ROAD FROM WHERE THE SAME <br />INTERSECTS WITH DOVER CENTER ROAD TO WHERE IT ALSO <br />INTERSECTS WITH PORTER ROAD, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council has been advised by the Police Department that the <br />parking of automobiles on either side of Butternut Ridge Road from Dover <br />Center Road West to Porter Road constitutes a hazard because of the <br />proximity of the Junior High School as well as the Library; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to eliminate parking on both <br />sides of Butternut Ridge Road from Dover Center Road westerly to Porter <br />Road; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance <br />of the Traffic Control file which must be amended by Ordinance. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Police Department be and they are hereby <br />authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control file of the City of <br />North Olmsted, to indicate thereon no parking on both sides on Butternut <br />Ridge Road from Dover Center Road west to Porter Road in the City of North <br />Olmsted. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized and directed <br />to cause the no parking signs to be placed in the manner specified herein. <br />SECTION 3: That the within Ordinance is presented as an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation and protection of the <br />public peace, health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the <br />City, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to <br />protect the children who are pedestrians in the area of Butternut Ridge <br />Road; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds <br />of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately uponits passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />1 <br />
