<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-107 <br />BY: M. YVONNE PETRIGAC <br />AN RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE AUDITING <br />FIRM OF PEAT, MARWICK, MAIN WHICH REPORT WAS CONDUCTED <br />UNDER THE AUSPICES OF N.O.A.C.A., WITH FUNDING FROM THE <br />UBRAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ADMINISTRATION DEALING WITH <br />THE COMPARISON OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND THE <br />GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY RELATIVE TO <br />COST OF OPERATING TRANSIT SERVICE AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, The City of North Olmsted entered into an operating agreement <br />with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) in 1975 for <br />the purpose of operating transit services in North Olmsted and the <br />surrounding area; and <br />WHEREAS, numerous disputes arose thereafter concerning the right of <br />North Olmsted to operate its' transit system; and <br />WHEREAS, after numerous battles in the court system, the GCRTA <br />announced that they were going to run parallel and competing lines in an <br />effort to assume control of transit lines within the City of North Olmsted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted asserted in 1985 that the City was <br />of the opinion that they could operate transit on a more cost effective <br />basis than the GCRTA; and <br />WHEREAS, through the intervention of UMTA and NOACA a cost study was <br />authorized with all parties, including the City of Maple Heights agreeing <br />to be bound by the results of the audit; and <br />WHEREAS, in September of 1987 the audit was complete and <br />recommendations were proferred and it is the desire of the City to accept <br />said audit and to be bound by same. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby accept the results of the <br />audit conducted by the accounting firm of Peat, Marwick, Main sponsored by <br />NOACA and paid for by a grant from UMTA._ <br />
