JOB TITLE <br />LIFT STATION ATTENDANT <br />Nature of Work: This is responsible semi-skilled mechanical and <br />manual labor work of a physically demanding nature. <br />Work involves maintenance of overflows, meter chambers, pumping <br />stations, and ejector stations as directed by the Systems <br />Foreman, Assistant Superintendent-Systems, or Superintendent. <br />Examples of Work: <br />Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of waste- <br />water pumping stations and ejector stations. <br />As required, painting of pumping and ejector stations, inside and <br />out; painting of meter boxes and meter poles; and any other <br />painting to related structures as assigned. <br />Operated a variety of standard construction and <br />maintenance.equipment; such as, compressors, air blowers, <br />portable generator, drills, and other machines as required and as <br />a necessary adjunct to normal duties. <br />As required, keeps records of all work performed; reports need <br />for materials and equipment where and when needed. <br />As required, cleaning; such as, washing walls and windows in <br />pumping stations or where assigned. <br />Assists Systems Foreman in repairs to meter chambers, overflows, <br />pumping stations, and ejector stations as required. <br />Work can be characterized by assignment to rotating shifts where <br />needed or as ordered by the Superintendent. <br />Subject to 24-hour call during emergency situations. <br />Performs related work as required. <br />Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills <br />Considerable knowledge of tools, materials, methods and modern <br />techniques commonly used in public works, utility construction <br />and maintenance activities. <br />EXHIBIT B-13 <br />73 <br />
