<br />JOB TITLE: EQUIPMENT OPERATOR <br />Nature of Work: This is manual labor in the performance of semi- <br />skilled and limited skilled work of a physically demanding <br />nature. <br />Work involves performing manual work of a semi-skilled nature <br />which does not require special previous training or experience. <br />The work can be performed under the immediate direction of <br />Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent-Systems, or the Systems <br />Foreman. Constant supervision is not always available for <br />routine and repetitive tasks which can be carried on without <br />difficulty once they are learned. Automotive and power equipment <br />will be operated. <br />Examples of Work: <br />Participates in the work of a crew engaged in cleaning, dragging, <br />and.rodding of storm and sanitary sewers; also the cleaning of <br />catch basins. <br />Operates a variety .of special standard sewer maintenance equip- <br />ment; such as, bucket machines, rodders, sanavac, inspection <br />equipment, back hoe and other automotive equipment as required. <br />Fes" As required,. keeps records of all work performed; reports need <br />`'~`'" for materials and equipment to the Systems Foreman when <br />necessary. <br />Work can be .characterized by assignment to rotating shifts when <br />needed as ordered by the Superintendent or Assistant Superin- <br />tendent-Systems. <br />Be subject to 24-hour call for emergency purposes. <br />Perform related work as required. <br />Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills <br />Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. <br />Considerable knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, <br />and modern techniques commonly used in public works and sewer <br />maintenance activities. <br />Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions <br />necessary for sewer cleaning operations. <br />EXHIBIT B-14 <br />75 <br />_a <br />
