i ...~.~ <br /> <br /> <br />. `- . <br />day following the end of the pay period in which the deduction <br />is made, and upon receipt, the Union shall assume full <br />responsibility for the disposition of all funds deducted. <br />The Union will indemnify and save the City harmless <br />from any action growing out of deductions hereunder and <br />commenced by an employee against the City or the City and <br />the Union jointly. <br />BULLETIN BOARDS <br />6. The City shall provide the Union three (3) bulletin ~„_ <br />boards: one (1) in the City Hall, one (1) in the Police =- <br />Station, and one (1) in the Recreation Department, for <br />notices of Union business, including notices of Union meetings, <br />election, and other Union-related matters. All notices or <br />other materials posted must be signed and dated by a Union <br />officer or steward. Upon request by the City, the Union <br />shall remove any posting that is inflammatory or critical of <br />the City, City officials, or of any other employees or per- <br />sons, or which are political (partisan) in nature. <br />UNION REPRESENTATION <br />7. Employees selected by the Union to act as Union repre- <br />sentatives for the purpose of processing grievances under <br />the Grievance Procedure shall be known as Stewards. The <br />City will recognize one steward and one alternate from each <br />of the following:. <br />1) City Hall <br />2 Police Department <br />3) Recreation Department. <br />4) dispatchers. <br />The steward shall represent employees on all three shifts. <br />The alternate steward shall be recognized when the regular <br />steward is absent or otherwise not available. <br />8. Employees who participate in meetings under Step 1 of <br />the Grievance Procedure, during their scheduled working time, <br />or other meeting scheduled by the City under the Grievance <br />Procedure, during the scheduled working time, will be paid <br />- 3 - <br />
