together with all interest and penalties allowed by law, at which time the <br />lien shall vest, all in accordance with Ohio R.C. 715,26 and 715.261. In <br />cases where such procedure is desirable and any delay thereby caused will <br />not be dangerous to the health, morals, safety or general welfare of the <br />people of the City, the Building Commissioner shall notify the Law Director <br />to take legal action to force the owner to make all necessary repairs or <br />demolish the building. <br />1331.06 DUTIES OF LAW DIRECTOR. <br />The Law Director or his office shall: <br />(a) Prosecute all persons failing to comply with the terms of the <br />notices provided in Section 1331.04(d) and (e) and the order <br />provided in Section 1331,05(d). <br />(b) Appear, when requested by the Building Commissioner, at all <br />hearings before the Building Commissioner in regard to dangerous <br />buildings. <br />(c) If requested by Council, bring suit to collect all costs incurred <br />in repairing or causing to be vacated or demolished dangerous <br />buildings, if the costs of the same have not been certified to the <br />County Auditor, as provided in Section 1331.05(e). <br />(d) Take any such other legal action is necessary to carry out the <br />terms and provisions of this chapter. <br />1331.07 EMERGENCY CASES. <br />Whenever a complaint is made to the Building Commissioner of the <br />existence of a dangerous building or a public nuisance, as defined in <br />Sections 1331.01 and 1331.03, and after inspection, as required in Section <br />1331.04, he should find that a dangerous building deemed to be a public <br />nuisance does exist and that the public health, safety or welfare is in <br />immediate danger, he shall promptly notify the Service Director and the <br />Fire Chief, who shall cause to be inspected the premises on which it is <br />alleged such public nuisance exists, if they have not already done so. <br />Written reports of the inspection and of the findings of the Building <br />Commissioner and the Fire Chief, with respect to the existence of the <br />public nuisance, as defined in Sections 1331.01 and 1331.03, and any <br />immediate danger to the public health, safety and welfare, shall be filed <br />with the Service Director. Should a majority of the Board of Appeal, at a <br />special meeting, find that a public nuisance exists and that the nature <br />thereof is such as to require its summary abatement, it shall be the duty <br />of the Building Commissioner to cause photographs of such nuisance to be <br />made and to file and keep in his office the written reports of the findings <br />of the aforesaid officials. <br />7
