(ii) the bottom of all openings shall be no higher than <br />one foot above grade; and, <br />(iii) openings may be equipped with screens, louvers, or <br />other coverings or devices provided that they <br />permit the automatic entry and exit of flood- <br />waters. <br />(2) Any enclosure which meets these criteria shall be con- <br />sidered as having met the requirements of Section <br />1361.05(b), Anchoring, <br />(1) Floodways. <br />The Flood Insurance Study referenced in Section 1361.02,identifies a <br />segment within areas of special flood hazard known as a floodway. Flood- <br />ways may also be delineated in other sources of flood information as <br />specified in Section 1361.05(1). The floodway is an extremelp hazardous <br />area due to the velocity of flood waters which carry debris, potential <br />projectiles, and erosion potential. The following provisions apply within <br />all delineated floodway areas: <br />(1) Prohibited encroachments, including fill, new construction, <br />substantial improvements, and other development unless a <br />technical evaluation demonstrates that encroachments shall <br />not result in any increase in flood levels during the <br />occurrence of the base flood discharge. <br />(2) If Section 1361.05(1)(1) is satisfied, all new construction <br />and substantial improvements shall comply with all applicable <br />flood hazard reduction provisions of Section 1361.05, <br />PROVISIONS FOR FLOOD HAZARD REDUCTION. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance hereby specifically repeals any other <br />Ordinance or parts of Ordinances inconsistent herewith. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect from and after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ,4a_? 1s_ /T /???
