.. <br />? <br />r <br />CITY OF NORTH 011MSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 88 - 14 <br />BY: Mayor Petrigac <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A DRUG ENFORCIIMENT TRUST <br />FUND PURSUANT TOaiIO REVISED CODE SECTION 2925.03 (J) and (K) <br />AND DECLARING AN IIMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Ohio Revised Code Section 2925.03(J) and (K) authorize <br />payments to municipalities from fines and bond forfeitures to be used solely <br />for drug enforcement purposes, and <br />WHEREAS, in order to receive such payments, the municipality must <br />establish a Drug Law Enforcement Fund, and <br />WHEREAS, payments from said Fund can only be made for certain <br />designated purposes, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council deems it advisable to establish the Drug Law <br />Enforcement Fund to receive said payments, the monies from which may be used <br />for the law enforcement purposes as outlined in Ohio Revised Code. <br />NOW T'HEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF NORTH OIMSTED, COUNTY OF <br />CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1: That pursuant to said Revised Code Section 2925.03 (J) <br />and 2925.0 K the City of North Olmsted does hereby establish a Drug <br />Enforcement Trust Fund, providing that the funds received thereunder shall be <br />used only to subsidize law enforcement efforts that pertain to drug offenses. <br />Section 2: That this Ordinance repeals any other ordinance or parts <br />of ordinances inconsistent herewith. <br />Section 3: That the within Ordinance is presented as an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation and protection of the public <br />peace, health, safety and general welfare of the inhabitants of the City, and <br />for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to adopt the within <br />Ordinance to comply with current law, and further provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall <br />take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />1
