The sites have
been picked to isolate Fairview Park, Olmsted Township and the Great Northern Shopping
Center area, while getting results from the residential areas of North Olmsted. The following
steps would be followed:
• Utilizing existing data and knowledge of the system, perform field reconnaissance to select
suitable sites for six composite samplers and flow monitors.
• Install six samplers and flow monitors at the selected sites.
• Obtain composite samples of each for five days and record the flows.
• Obtain two tape water samples nearby each monitor site.
• Send. 30 composite samples and 10 tape water samples, plus two spilit samples from the
Wastewater Treatment Plant to the laboratory for testing on levels of copper, mercury and
cadmium.
• Remove samplers and monitors.
• Analyze results and determine if Phase II is required. If not, prepare study report.
F~uipment and Laboratory Testing:
We propose to use the firm of Aqua Tech Environmental Consultants to perform the laboratory
tests for copper, mercury and cadmium. We will also rent the composite samplers from Aqua
Tech. Flow monitors will be provided by URS, plus use of existing monitors in the system.
