CITY OF NORTH OI1r1STID ORDINANCE N0. 91-89 BY: Councilman -Leonard AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BID5 FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) SIX PASSENGER, FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED BY THE MAYOR AND SERVICE DIRECTOR, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE N0. 91-55, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council recognizes that the automobiles presently being used by the Mayor and Service Director have accumulated a great many miles and are presently obsolete for purposes of utilizing said vehicles for administrative purposes, and WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 91-55 authorized the Service Director to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) 1991 automobiles; however, 1991 Model automobiles are not readily available which meet the specifications on file in the office of the Service Director. WHEREAS, this Council authorized the Director of Public Service to advertise for two (2), six passenger, four door sedan automobiles by virtue of the passage of Ordinance No. 91-55, and no responsive bids were received, thus making it necessary to readvertise. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the purchase of two (2) 1992 automobiles to be used by the Mayor and Service Director, which shall be in accordance with specifications now on file in his office, and that upon approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute same on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 2: That Ordinance No. 91-55 is hereby repealed. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that it is immediately necessary to replace the existing automobiles being used by the Mayor and Service Director which are obsolete because of excessive mileage, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
