CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 91-43 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING A LOCAL OPERATION:OASIS, <br />A COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAM OFFERING SERVICES AND <br />SUPPORT TO FAMILIES OF MILITARY PERSONNEL SERVING <br />IN THE GULF WAR. <br />WHEREAS, Many men and women in the military have <br />been separated from their families because of the Gulf <br />War; and <br />WHEREAS, This separation can present a financial <br />hardship as well as an emotional upheaval of family <br />life; and <br />WHEREAS, Since there are no military bases in the <br />Cleveland area to provide support systems these <br />families need desperately, it is the responsibility of <br />local communities to provide this assistance; and <br />WHEREAS, Operation:0asis is an organization that <br />provides a support system as well as an emergency <br />assistance fund for families needing financial help; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, North Olmsted's Operation:0asis consists <br />of representatives from the North Olmsted Department <br />of Human Resources, North Olmsted Churches, North <br />Olmsted Schools, North Olmsted businesses and other <br />members of the professional community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF <br />OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That it is the desire of this Council to <br />support Operation:0asis in North Olmsted and to urge <br />neighboring West Shore area communities to do the <br />same. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect <br />and be in force from and after the earliest period <br />allowed by_ law. <br />PASSED: ,-., It ~_._<<t y < /'~ ,~ r ~r J <br />ATTEST: ~ <br />_ 1, I <br />;~ <br />___ <br />,_~_.o ~~rx:_ , <br />;Barbara Seman, Clerk of Council <br />`APPROVED :, ~~ ~a iy yj <br />~ Iv ~ 2_~Lv~,a,,i <br />~~ James D.
