CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 91-31 <br />By; Mr . Tallon <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 1701 OF THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED <br />"FIRE PREVENTION CODE" , BY ADDING THERETO A NEW <br />SECTION 1701.], 6 ENTITLED "FIRE DEPARTMENT RESEARCH <br />FEES", AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City has noticed a trend in the last few months where outside groups <br />and organizations are requesting information and reports in reference to natural gas wells and <br />underground storage tanks that may have been previously located on various properties located <br />throughout the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Fire Department must provide the necessary information to the <br />requesting party, incurring costs of research time, preparation of report(s) and other related <br />expenses; and <br />WHEREAS, the City believes that the Fire Department should be compensated and <br />allowed to assess a nominal fee to cover the department's costs associated with the generation <br />of the information requested. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That there is hereby created a new Section 1701.16 of Chapter 1701 <br />entitled "Fire Prevention Code", which new Section shall be entitled "Fire Department Re- <br />search Fees" , which shall read as follows: <br />1701.16 FIRE DEPARTMENT RESEARCH FEES <br />(a) Upon the request of interested parties, the North Olmsted Fire De- <br />partment may give information regarding the location of natural gas wells <br />and underground storage tanks on properties located within the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />(b) A $15.00 fee will be assessed to cover the costs of producing a report <br />which reflects fire department records as to the existence of natural gas <br />wells or underground storage tanks on property located within the City of <br />North Olmsted. <br />
