CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID ORDINANCE N0. 91-1 BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL ~. i''~ % \`', ,' ~ , ~~ 3 ~' / AN ORDINANCE MAINTAINING WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR FULL-TIME EMPIAYEES OF NORTH OLMSTID, OHIO, WHO ARE CALLID TO ACTIVE MILITARY SERVICE DURING THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREGJITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHIItEAS, there is evidence that there may be eminent military action taken by the United States Armed Forces in the Middle East; and WHEREAS, there is a possibility that men and women presently serving as Municipal employees may be called into active service in the Middle East; and ti~REAS, such service will cause a dramatic impact on the families of such service men and women; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of North Olmsted have recognized the need for assisting the families in maintaining their standard of living while such family members are called into active military service; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1: Commencing with the effective date of this ordinance, there is hereby established a policy of maintaining the wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment for all full-time Municipal employees of North Olmsted, Ohio, when he/she is called into active military service during the. Middle East crisis. The Director of Finance is authorized to continue paying their base wages during their time of military service, less, however, his/her military wages received during such service. SECTION 2: All prior Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance, in whole or in part, are repealed to the extent necessary to avoid conflict with this Ordinance.
