<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID <br />ORDINANCE N0. 91-1 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND THE ENTIRE CITY COUNCIL <br />~. <br />i''~ <br />% \`', <br />,' <br />~ , <br />~~ 3 ~' / <br />AN ORDINANCE MAINTAINING WAGES, BENEFITS AND OTHER TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT FOR FULL-TIME EMPIAYEES OF NORTH OLMSTID, OHIO, <br />WHO ARE CALLID TO ACTIVE MILITARY SERVICE DURING THE MIDDLE EAST CRISIS, <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREGJITH AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHIItEAS, there is evidence that there may be eminent military <br />action taken by the United States Armed Forces in the Middle East; and <br />WHEREAS, there is a possibility that men and women presently <br />serving as Municipal employees may be called into active service in the <br />Middle East; and <br />ti~REAS, such service will cause a dramatic impact on the families <br />of such service men and women; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of North Olmsted have recognized the <br />need for assisting the families in maintaining their standard of living <br />while such family members are called into active military service; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTID, COUNTY OF <br />CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1: Commencing with the effective date of this ordinance, <br />there is hereby established a policy of maintaining the wages, benefits <br />and other terms and conditions of employment for all full-time Municipal <br />employees of North Olmsted, Ohio, when he/she is called into active <br />military service during the. Middle East crisis. The Director of Finance <br />is authorized to continue paying their base wages during their time of <br />military service, less, however, his/her military wages received during <br />such service. <br />SECTION 2: All prior Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance, <br />in whole or in part, are repealed to the extent necessary to avoid <br />conflict with this Ordinance. <br />
