CITY OF NORTII OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 93-164 BI': MAYOR BOY_T,F AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OPERATING AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND THE GREATER CLEVELAND REGIONAL TRANSIT AUTHORITY AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted heretofore entered into a Public Transportation Operating Agreement with the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) providing the cooperative effort between the parties to provide transportation service to a certain segment of Cuyahoga County; and WHEREAS, said Agreement is due to expire on January 1, 1994 unless renegotiated or extended by the parties; and WHEREAS, the City and GCRTA have been negotiating the terms of a new Operating Agreement but due to time constraints have been unable to complete a final mutually acceptable agreement; and WHEREAS, both the City and GCRTA desire to extend the current Operating Agreement for a period of one year within such time it being contemplated that a new agreement will be negotiated and presented to each of the parties approving authority for final ratification. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: Section 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to execute an extension of the Public Transportation Operating Agreement between GCRTA and the City of North Olmsted dated December 14, 1988 for a period of one (1) year until December 31, 1994. Section 2: That the Mayor and his other designated members of the administration are hereby authorized and directed to continue to work toward a final re-negotiated Operating Agreement, which when finally negotiated shall be submitted to this Council for its final approval.
