<br />. <br />CITY OF NOR19 OIMTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 93-85 <br />BY: 'THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION CONIlKENDING 'II3E ACHIEVIIMIIV'T BY <br />JAMES BLACK OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD <br />IN BOY SCOUTING <br />W.EIEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their <br />dedication to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable <br />asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the <br />Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are commitments that all citizens should strive <br />for; and <br />WHEREAS, when ane of aur young citizens has been committed to Scouting to <br />such an extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy <br />accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES BLACK, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 664, ha.s served his <br />fellow scouts as a Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol <br />Leader, Quartermaster, and was chosen as an Honorary Official during the 1992 <br />Al1 Scouts Weekend; and <br />WHEREAS, throughout his Scouting career, JAMES BLACK was an active Scout <br />by attending the Junior Leadership Training Course, participating in sumer camp <br />for six years, participating in Memorial Day Parades, attending numerous weekend <br />campouts, participating in the Wright Patterson trip, and participating in <br />Snorkeling BSA; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES BLACK, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned the <br />following Skill Awards: Camping, Citizenship, Commznication, Cooking, Commznity <br />Living, Swimming, Family Living, First Aid, and Hiking, and has also earned <br />twenty-four Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, while JAMES was tmdertaking all these Scouting projects, he also <br />was a member of the Marching Band for three years, a member of the Special <br />Edition Show Choir, a member of the Wind Ensemble, a member of the German Club, <br />and a member of the Methodist Youth Fellowship of the North Olmsted United <br />Methalist Church; and <br />WHEREAS, JAMES BLACK is currently enrolled at Bowling Green State <br />University where he is pursuing a degree in Design Technology; and
