? • <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 93- 21 <br />BY.• MAYOR ID BOYLE <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S CODPERATIVE <br />PURCHASING PROGRAM, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted, over the last several years, has experienced a <br />great deal of savings in its purchasing practices by virtue of the passage of Ordinance Number <br />87-6 which authorized the Mayor of the City of North Olmsted to participate in a joint <br />purchasing venture with the State of Ohio Department of Administrative Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Service has investigated the purchasing <br />program with the Ohio Department of Transportation which differs from the program authorized <br />under 87-6 by virtue of the fact that heavy equipment can be purchased through the State of <br />Ohio; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of the Director of Public Service it is the belief <br />of this council that the City of North Olmsted would benefit by entering into a cooperative <br />purchase program with the Ohio Department of Transportation. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTIDN 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to participate in the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation's contracts for the purchase of machinery, materials, supplies or <br />other articles which the Department has entered into pursuant to Revised Code Section <br />5513.01(B). <br />SECTION 2. That the City of North Olmsted, through the Mayor, is authorized to enter <br />into an agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation for the purposes of being bound <br />by the terms and conditions of the purchasing process as is prescribed by the Director of the <br />Department of Transportation. <br />SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized, in the name of the City <br />of North Olmsted, to directly pay to any vendor under each such contract of the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation in which the City of North Olmsted participates for items it <br />receives pursuant to said contract.
