CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE N0.2011 - 16 iY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 13 7 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF LAW" IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR THE RE-ORGANIZATION THEREOF. WHEREAS, on May 4, 2010, the electors of the City of North Olmsted approved Issue 34 to amend the Charter of the City of North Olmsted, whereby all departments and divisions there under, with the exception of the Departments of Law and Finance, are to be established by the Council via ordinance; and WHEREAS, in August of 2010, all Departments with the exception of Law and Finance were re-organized; and WHEREAS, the Department of Finance was reorganized in September of 2010; and WHEREAS, the Director of Law has analyzed the operations and structure of the department and has determined that re-organization, in such fashion as all other Departments were re-organized in 2010, is in order; and WHEREAS, consistent with the recommendation of the Director of Law and in order to implement the staffing charts as has been done in all other Departments, it is the desire of this Council to reorganize the Department of Law by amending Chapter 137 of the Administrative Code. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Chapter 137 "Department of Law," which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, which is likewise attached to this Ordinance and likewise incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re-codification. SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
