EXHIBIT <br />J <br />F- <br />H <br />CHAPTER 137 a a <br />Department of Law <br />137.01 Composition <br />137.02 Duties of Director <br />137.03 Claims settlement authority of Director of Law <br />137.01 COMPOSITION <br />(a) The Law Department of the City, as provided for in Article V, Section 2 of <br />the City Charter, shall be headed by the Director of Law. The employees of the <br />Department shall consist of up to four Assistant Directors of Law, a legal secretary and <br />up to three law clerks, all of whom shall be appointed by and under the supervision of the <br />Director of Law. All of the Assistant Director of Law positions shall be part-time. Each <br />of the assistant directors of law shall be an attorney in good standing with the Ohio <br />Supreme Court and licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. The law clerks shall be <br />law students at an accredited law school, or graduates from an accredited law school. <br />(b) Up to one of the assistant directors of law shall be known as the Assistant <br />Director of Law -Civil I, and up to two others shall be known as Assistant Directors of <br />Law -Civil II. These Assistant Directors of Law shall primarily assist the Director of <br />Law in the performance of his duties, and shall also, when necessary as determined by <br />the Director of Law, assist the City Prosecutor. The duties of one of the two Assistant <br />Directors of Law -Civil II shall be to serve as the City's Fair Housing Administrator and <br />provide other and appropriate legal and related services to the City's Fair Housing <br />Review Board. All of the time spent by this Assistant Director of Law -Civil II shall be <br />spent on matters relating to the City's Fair Housing Program. <br />(c) Up to one Assistant Director of Law shall be known as the City <br />Prosecutor. The City Prosecutor shall act on behalf of the City or the State of Ohio in the <br />prosecution of felony and misdemeanor offenses occurring in the City of North Olmsted, <br />and shall perform such other duties as are required by law of municipal prosecutors or as <br />otherwise required by the Director of Law. <br />(d) The Legal Secretary shall be a full-time position and shall provide <br />secretarial and administrative services to the Law Department. <br />137.02 DUTIES OF DIRECTOR <br />The Director of Law shall act as legal counsel and serve in such capacity, the <br />Mayor, Council, administrative officers and departments and the commissions and boards <br />of the City. He shall not be required to represent the Board of Education as is now <br />required of City Law Directors under the general laws of the State. <br />137.03 CLAIMS SETTLEMENT AUTHORITY OF DIRECTOR OF LAW <br />
