.~ CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 60 BY: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION APPROVING OF AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS ("IAFF") LOCAL 1267 FOR THE CITY'S FIRE FIGHTERS, FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2009, THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2011, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the International Association of Fire Fighters ("IAFF"), Local 1267, has been recognized as the exclusive, collective bargaining agent for the City's Fire Fighters; and WHEREAS, the Administration has conducted bargaining with the members of said bargaining unit and concluded the process, including fact-finding, with an agreement that includes all of the provisions agreed to by both parties; and WHEREAS, the Administration, in accordance with the new and modified provisions negotiated by the parties, prepared and submitted to the IAFF a draft of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for IAFF review and approval; and i~Y'HEREAS, after receiving comments and suggestions from the IAFF regarding the draft, the Administration made further appropriate revisions and submitted a final draft Collective Bargaining Agreement to the IAFF, which contains all of the new and modified contract provisions negotiated by the parties, including revisions to the first draft in response to comments and suggestions from the IAFF; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to approve of and authorize the Mayor, on behalf of the City, to execute the new Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and IAFF, Local 1267 on behalf of the said Fire Fighters, for the period January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011, as attached hereto as Exhibit "A"; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL VED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiated by and between the Administration and IAFF Local 1267, on behalf of the City's Fire Fighters, acopy of which is attached to this legislation as "Exhibit A," is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the said Collective Bargaining Agreement on behalf of the City of North Olmsted. SECTION 2: That the effective date for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, and for the implementation of all of the provisions in the Agreement, unless otherwise expressly specified therein, shall be January 1, 2009.
