CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 64 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR <br />BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO REPLACE THE <br />NATATORIUM DEHUMIDIFICATION SYSTEM AND RELATED <br />EQUIPMENT, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE WITH <br />THE ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE <br />SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City is in need of a replacement dehumidification system due to the <br />accumulation of excessive moisture in the pool at the Recreation Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the failure to replace the dehumidification system and related equipment <br />which allow for humidity control in an otherwise moist environment, will result in interrupted <br />services at the Recreation Center; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to advertise for bids <br />for the award of a contract to replace the dehumidification system and related equipment at the <br />Recreation Center, as set forth in specifications on file with the City Engineer, and to further <br />authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for a contract to <br />replace the dehumidification system in the Recreation Center pool area, in accordance with the <br />plans and specifications on file; and further that, upon approval by the Board of Control, the <br />Mayor be and is hereby authorized to enter into such a contract and execute same on behalf of the <br />City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City <br />may abate and correct the excessive moisture conditions before services are interrupted at the <br />pool, and further, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the <br />Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br />Mayor. <br />
