CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION N0.2011- 69 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON AGING TO PROVIDE FOR 2011 SENIOR FARMERS' MARKET NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) has proposed to continue the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program in 2011 with the North Olmsted Senior Center; and WHEREAS, the Agreement with the City of North Olmsted enables the Senior Center to participate in said Farmers' Market Nutrition Program and to receive 95 coupon sets for qualified residents valued at Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($4,750.00); and WHEREAS, the Farmers' Market Program is a tremendous benefit for the citizens and one of many outstanding nutrition programs conducted at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for Beneficiary Outreach and Assistance by the North Olmsted Senior Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for the 2011 Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, in accordance with the Agreement attached as Exhibit A, and shall be in form and substance as said attachment, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately since the program opportunity deadline for participation is May 13, 201 l; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
