<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011- 69 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE WESTERN RESERVE AREA AGENCY ON <br />AGING TO PROVIDE FOR 2011 SENIOR FARMERS' MARKET <br />NUTRITION PROGRAM FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED SENIOR CENTER <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging (WRAAA) has proposed to <br />continue the Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program in 2011 with the North Olmsted Senior <br />Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the Agreement with the City of North Olmsted enables the Senior Center to <br />participate in said Farmers' Market Nutrition Program and to receive 95 coupon sets for qualified <br />residents valued at Four Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($4,750.00); and <br />WHEREAS, the Farmers' Market Program is a tremendous benefit for the citizens and <br />one of many outstanding nutrition programs conducted at the North Olmsted Senior Center; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter <br />into an Agreement with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to provide for Beneficiary <br />Outreach and Assistance by the North Olmsted Senior Center. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, with the Western Reserve Area Agency on <br />Aging to provide for the 2011 Farmers' Market Nutrition Program, in accordance with the <br />Agreement attached as Exhibit A, and shall be in form and substance as said attachment, with <br />only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts as are not substantially adverse to the <br />City and which are approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately since the <br />program opportunity deadline for participation is May 13, 201 l; and further provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />
