CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.2011 - 81 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO PROVIDE <br />FOR THE INSTALLATION OF AN "AUTHORIZED <br />VEHICLE PARKING ONLY" SIGN ON ROOT ROAD AT ITS <br />TERMINUS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety, in conjunction with the Chief of Police and <br />the City Engineer, following observation and review, have found and determined that motorists, <br />from time to time, will park vehicles at the end of Root Road, in an area that otherwise serves as <br />a turnaround for city service and emergency vehicles; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of said review, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public <br />Safety that safety would be enhanced by prohibiting parking in this area; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the determination and desire of this Council, based upon these <br />observations and opinions, that it is in the best interest of the safety, health and welfare of the <br />citizens of the City of North Olmsted to authorize installation of a "Authorized Vehicle Parking <br />Only" sign on Root Road at its terminus; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic <br />Control File, which file can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUY_AHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: "Chat the Police Department be and the same is hereby authorized and <br />directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to indicate thereon the <br />installation of "Authorized Vehicle Parking Only" signage on Root Road at its point of <br />termination. <br />SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to <br />install new signs, as appropriate, at the intersection described in Section 1 above in accordance <br />with the provisions of this Ordinance and the Ohio Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately in order to <br />permit emergency vehicles and other service vehicles to perform tasks without interference from <br />vehicles parked in such fashion as to hinder said performance; and further provided it receives <br />
