CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011 - 85 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION DISPENSING WITH THE RFP PROCESS AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TD ENTER INTO A ONE YEAR <br />CONTRACT WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY/ THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE <br />COUNTY PROVIDING STORM SEWER SYSTEM INSPECTION AND <br />MAINTENANCE SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted is responsible for the inspection and <br />maintenance of storm sewers within City limits; and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration believes that the City can most efficiently inspect and <br />service storm sewer lines by utilizing the expertise, manpower and equipment of the <br />Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works in conjunction with City employees and <br />resources; <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service that the City, <br />rather than attempt to procure the necessary services elsewhere and otherwise through the <br />City's RFP/RFQ procedures, instead enter into a one year contract with the Cuyahoga County <br />Department of Public Works to provide storm sewer inspection and maintenance in <br />accordance with the fee schedule attached hereto; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council, acting upon the <br />recommendation of the Director of Public Service, to dispense with the RFP/RFQ process and <br />authorize the Mayor to enter into a one year contract with Cuyahoga County / Cuyahoga <br />County Department of Public Works. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a one year <br />contract with Cuyahoga County /The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works to <br />provide storm sewer inspection services and maintenance for sewers located throughout the <br />City and that said agreement be in substantially the form of the Agreement attached to this <br />legislation as "Exhibit A," subject only to such changes in form or substance as are approved <br />by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to the fact <br />
