CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011 - 87 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR ON BEHALF OF THE <br />CITY TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM FAIRVIEW/CLEVELAND CLINIC <br />HOSPITAL FOR SEVEN (7) AUTOMATED EXTERNAL <br />DEFILBRILLATOR (AED) UNITS FOR INSTALLATION IN NORTH <br />OLMSTED POLICE CRUISERS, TOGETHER WITH COST OF TRAINING, <br />IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $10,594.00, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Fairview Hospital, a Cleveland Clinic Hospital, has offered to provide seven <br />(7) Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Units, as well as to provide the training in their <br />use, to the North Olmsted Police Department for deployment during medical/cardiac emergency <br />responses; and <br />WHEREAS, this initiative and donation is provided by and through the generosity of the <br />Cleveland Clinic, Fairview Hospital, at no cost to the City of North Olmsted; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to accept, on behalf of <br />the City, the Fairview Hospital AED Initiative, by and through their program registration <br />requirements, together with the sincere gratitude of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to accept the donation of <br />seven (7) Automated External Defibrillators (AED) Units from Cleveland Clinic, Fairview <br />Hospital for the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />SECTION 2: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to execute registration <br />documentation on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute an agreement, if required, <br />to accept the Fairview Hospital AED Initiative. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and it is <br />necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately because the AED Units are available for <br />immediate installation and further provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of <br />all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and <br />approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: (, ~ • f ~ ~/ First Reading: / ~ ~ <br />Second Reading.• - ~ n ~~,? // <br />Third Reading: ~~ <br />
