<br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL
<br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY
<br />JARED ANTHONY SWEIGARD
<br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING
<br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication to organized
<br />Scouting; and
<br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those participating in Scouting,
<br />both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the community and the Nation, and that the ideals of
<br />Scouting, the Scout Law and the Scout Pledge are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and
<br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an extent that he
<br />earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and
<br />WHEREAS, JARED, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630 has served his fellow Scouts as Assistant
<br />Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Librarian, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Instructor, Troop
<br />Guide, Chaplain Aide, Den Chief, Quartermaster, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster, and National Jamboree
<br />Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and earned the Interpolative Strip (signing) Award, the World Conservation
<br />Award, BSA Lifeguard Award, Mile Swim Award, COPE Award, and International Catholic Awareness
<br />Award; and
<br />WHEREAS, JARED in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned 36 Merit Badges; and
<br />WHEREAS, while JARED was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he was participating in a
<br />number of community and school activities including rebuilding the buildings for Safety Town, Relay for Life,
<br />Bag Lunches for the Homeless, North Olmsted Community Meals ,Saint Edward Community Meals, Saint
<br />Edward Community Garden, Red Cross Blood Donor, European Adoption Reunion, School Supplies for Saint
<br />Colman's, lettered 3 years on Saint Edward Swim Team, Baseball 2 years, honor roll 3 years, National Honor
<br />Society, Student Ambassador, Moreau Mentor, Tutor, Holy Cross Servant Leadership, St. Brendan Church
<br />usher, and Youth Group Retreat Leader; and
<br />WHEREAS, JARED is currently a Senior at St. Edward High School with the goal of attending college
<br />and being an Athletic Trainer; and
<br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by JARED ANTHONY SWEIGARD is a
<br />noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH
<br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO:
<br />SECTION 1: That this Council extends its best wishes and heartiest congratulations to JARED
<br />ANTHONY SWEIGARD on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout.
<br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this
<br />Resolution to JARED ANTHONY SWEIGARD.
