CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011-105 <br />BY: THE MAYOR AND ENTIRE COUNCIL <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ACHIEVEMENT BY <br />TYLER JACOB SMITH <br />OF THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD IN BOY SCOUTING <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration recognize and reaffirm their dedication <br />to organized Scouting; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the Administration further recognize that those <br />participating in Scouting, both the youths and their leaders, are an invaluable asset to the <br />community and the Nation, and that the ideals of Scouting, the Scout Law and the Scout Pledge <br />are commitments that all citizens should strive for; and <br />WHEREAS, when one of our young citizens has been committed to Scouting to such an <br />extent that he earns the rank of Eagle Scout, it is truly a noteworthy accomplishment; and <br />WHEREAS, TYLER, as a member of Boy Scout Troop 630, has served his fellow Scouts <br />as Patrol Leader, Historian, Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide, Den Chief, Scribe, National <br />Jamboree Patrol Leader, All Scouts Day Teen Committee Co-chair, and earned World <br />Conservation Award, National Youth Leadership Training Award, Den Chief Training Award, <br />Den Chief Service Award, and was District Photo Contest Winner; and <br />WHEREAS, TYLER, in achieving his Eagle Scout Award earned 35 Merit Badges; and <br />WHEREAS, while TYLER was undertaking all these Scouting projects, he was <br />participating in a number of community projects including refurbishing North Olmsted Food <br />Pantry, Yard Charge, volunteered at 911 Relief, Katrina Hurricane Relief, Habitat for Humanity, <br />Relay for Life, Rainbows Children's Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital, European <br />Adoption Reunion, northeast Ohio SPCA, and is a Red Cross Blood donor; and <br />WHEREAS, TYLER is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster and attending Cuyahoga <br />Community College with a goal of becoming a nurse; and <br />WHEREAS, the reception of the Eagle Scout Award by TYLER JACOB SMITH is a <br />noteworthy accomplishment deserving of the congratulations of the entire community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That this Council extends its best wishes and heartiest congratulations to <br />TYLER JACOB SMITH on his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout. <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of Council be, and she is hereby directed to transmit a copy <br />of this Resolution to TYLER JACOB SMITH. <br />Passed: ~~ ~ ~ _~ <br />~~ <br />Marie Gallo, Clerk of Council <br />Duane K.
