CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2011 - 106 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH RIVERSIDE DRIVES, INC., TO PROVIDE FOR EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION SERVICES TO UPGRADE THE BROXBOURNE LIFT STATION AT A FINAL COST NOT TO EXCEED $24, 893.00, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Broxbourne Lift Station requires new equipment including variable frequency drives, panel mounted control panels, and other component upgrades in connection with the replacement of soft start motors; and WHEREAS, the City intends to standardize the equipment and design specifications for all of the lift stations in order to improve efficiency of operations and the compatibility of components; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Service, based upon systems review by the Superintendent of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, to engage the service of Riverside Drives, Inc. to perform said Broxbourne upgrades at a cost not to exceed $24, 893.00 and without public bidding; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to utilize quotes to upgrade and replace station control and drive systems at the Broxbourne Lift Stations and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with Riverside Drives, Inc. at a cost not to exceed $24,893.00. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement with Riverside Drives, Inc. to design, construct and install lift station control systems, component panels, soft start motors, and all necessary or related improvements for the Broxbourne Lift Station at a cost not to exceed $2.4,893.00. SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately iu order to expedite improvements to the WV~~TP collections systems, specifically the Broxbourne Lift Station; and further provided it receives the of±irmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
