CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0.2011 -109 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy, Council President Limpert & the entire City Council <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 105 (WARDS AND <br />BOUNDARIES) OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED IN ORDER TO REFLECT NEWLY CREATED WARD <br />BOUNDARIES. <br />WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of North Olmsted requires the City Council to <br />redraw ward boundaries "as nearly equal in population as practicable" following, among other <br />things, the decennial census. Charter Art. IX, §5; and <br />WHEREAS, after consultation, the City Council retained the services of Mr. Robert <br />Dykes of TRIAD Research Group, 20325 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River, Ohio 44116, who <br />proposed a redrawing of ward boundaries such that Ward I was comprised of 8174 residents; <br />Ward II has 8175 residents; Ward III has 8184 residents and Ward IV has 8185 residents; <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted City Council on October 4, 2011, by voice vote <br />affirmatively approved a plan known as Plan S1, reflecting the ward composition referenced <br />herein, satisfying its Charter responsibilities; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to place the modified Ward Map within the Codified <br />Ordinances for ease of reference and availability to the public at large. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 105.1 of Chapter 105 (Wards and Boundaries) of the <br />Codified Ordinances, which currently reads as follows: <br />105.1 CITY DIVIDED INTO FOUR WARDS: MAP. <br />Council hereby accepts the ward boundaries, as established by the Director of Public <br />Service, according to the provisions of Article IX, Section 7, of the City Charter and which are <br />further set forth in a map attached to Ordinance 71-180 and made a part hereof and marked <br />Exhibit A. <br />BE AND HEREBY IS AMENDED AND, AS AMENDED, READS AS FOLLOWS: <br />105.1 CITY DIVIDED INTO FOUR WARDS: MAP. <br />Council hereby sets forth and restates the ward boundaries for the City of North Olmsted, <br />as previously established by the Council on October 4, 2011, pursuant to its authority as granted <br />in Charter Art. IX, §5, "Nominations and Elections." The map attached hereto and incorporated <br />
