CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011 -111 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY FOR AN ASSET TRANSFER <br />OF EQUIPMENT FROM THE FY2008 URBAN AREA SECURITY <br />INITIATIVE GRANT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, by virtue of the FY2008 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant, Cuyahoga <br />County has access to six (6) Garmin Nuvi 1300LM GPS units valued at $335.94 each and has <br />indicated that such units are available for use in the North Olmsted Department of Public Safety, <br />Division of Fire; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Division of Fire can utilize such units in the <br />operation of its equipment and in the providing of service to North Olmsted residents; <br />WHEREAS, no local matching funds are required; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to execute <br />any necessary contract documents to receive said GPS units. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute contract <br />documents with Cuyahoga County and to accept six (6) Garmin Nuvi 1300LM GPS units; and <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare, and fir the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City <br />may immediately accept and utilize said GPS units; and further, provided it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of the Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: __ (~~j~ j~_ <br />First Reading: _ I / ~~ (l ___ <br />Second Reading: _/ ~) t <br />Third Readin U <br />Committee: ~ r/- <br />ATTEST.• <br />MARIE GALLO <br />Clerk of Council <br />. ~~ <br />DUANE K LIMPERT <br />President of Council <br />
