CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION N0.2011-122 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH CUYAHOGA COUNTY FOR THE STATE HOMELAND SECURITY PROGRAM AND TO PROVIDE GRANT FUNDING FOR THE COMMUNITY EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (CERT) IN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Public Safety, State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) offers grant funding opportunities to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) by and through an Agreement with Cuyahoga County, attached as Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, authorization is required by SHSP in order for the CERT to participate in and qualify for grant funding in 2011-2012 in an amount up to $1,300.00; and WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted's participation in the CERT program has and will continue to enhance public safety by awareness and preparedness in the event of natural or other emergency circumstances for the benefit of the residents of the City of North Olmsted; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement with Cuyahoga County in order to qualify for SHSP funding for CERTprograms. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED B Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into an Agreement by and between the City of North Olmsted and Cuyahoga County with respect to the Ohio Department of Public Safety, State Homeland Security (SHSP) for the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), in order to provide for participation in their grant funding program and reimbursement programs, as described and regulated therein. The Agreement shall be in form and substance of the attached Agreement by and between the City and County, marked as Exhibit A and attached hereto, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contracts as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the Agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law.
