CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION N0.2011 -136 By: Mayor Kennedy & Council Member Kearney A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY BUSINESS ATTRACTION AND ANTI-POACHING PROTOCOL. WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Executive has initiated the attached Cuyahoga County Business Attraction and Anti-Poaching Protocol (herein "Protocol") and invited local governments to participate in and consider adoption thereof; and WHEREAS, the Protocol is intended to facilitate interaction between the County and its local communities to promote economic development, including a single County contact point for business inquiries regarding location, relocation or expansion within the County; and WHEREAS, the Protocol will establish a procedure to balance the interests of participating communities with respect to established businesses that consider relocation; and WHEREAS, the Protocol expresses a commitment by the participating communities to refrain from actively pursuing the relocation of a business that has not announced relocation from its current location within a participating community; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into the attached Cuyahoga County Business Attraction and Anti-Poaching Protocol to provide for the economic development opportunities of the City of North Olmsted in conjunction and cooperation with the County. The Protocol shall be in form and substance as the attachment hereto, with only such changes to be hereinafter made that are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period provided by law.
