CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0.2011 - 144 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5,000 TONS OF ASPHALT <br />MATERIALS FOR VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT <br />THE CITY AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE <br />LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER TO PURCHASE SAID MATERLALS, AFTER <br />BOARD OF CONTROL APPROVAL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to <br />purchase 5,000 tons of asphalt materials for various Service Department needs throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said asphalt materials, as prepared under the <br />direction of the Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's <br />Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for 5,000 tons of asphalt materials for various Service Department needs throughout <br />the City, and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to <br />purchase said materials, after Board of Control approval; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for 5,000 tons of asphalt materials for various Service Department needs throughout the City in <br />accordance with the specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same <br />on behalf of the City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further for the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to purchase seasonal supplies, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: ~i r ~ ~~~..~~., tel. <br />First Reading: ~ ~"p i <br />Second Reading.• <br />Third Reading: _ <br />Committee: ~~ ~,~~( L~,{ <br />
