CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 6 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO PURCHASE A <br />"VACTOR MODEL 2115" COMBINATION SEWER VACUUM & HIGH <br />PRESSURE RODDER TRUCK AND EQUIPMENT, AT A FINAL COST OF <br />$277,500.00, ALL THRDUGH THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM; AND <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL <br />DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE, AND <br />DF.'CLARING AN EMEX GENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Service Department and Waste Water Treatment Plant <br />needs to acquire a"VACTOR Model 2115" Combination Sewer Vacuum & High Pressure <br />Rodder Truck and related equipment for the purpose of cleaning and jetting sewers; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety & Service recommends that the City acquire <br />this vehicle, at an estimated cost of Two Hundred Seventy-Seven Thousand and Five Hundred <br />dollars ($277,500.00), from Jack Doheny Companies, as qualified by and through the State <br />Purchasing Program; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br />vehicle, through the State purchase program, as a permitted exception to the competitive bidc3iiig <br />procedure that otherwise would be required for such expenditures, and to further authorize the <br />Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including, subject to approval of <br />the Board of Control, if necessary, a contract with the lowest and best bidder selected among <br />State qualified vendors. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br />State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br />authorized to participate in p:irsuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br />"VACTOR Model 2115" Cornbination Sewer Vacuum & High Pressure Rodder Truck and <br />related equipment for this vehicles, all of which is described in the specifications on file in the <br />Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State Purchasing <br />Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other necessary <br />documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any contract <br />executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of this <br />Resolution and approved by the Director of Law.
