CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 23 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT TO MAKE APPLICA TION ONBEHALF <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED FOR COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) FUNDS FOR THE FISCAL <br />YEAR 2012 FOR THE COUNTRY CLUB BOULEVARD STREETSCAPE <br />AND SAFETY ENHANCEMENTS PROJECT, PHASE II; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE USE OF CITY FUNDS AS THE LOCAL MATCH; <br />FURTHER A UTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE GRANT IF <br />AWARDED AND TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council created, through the adoption of Resolution No. 2009-04, a <br />Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), in part, for the purpose of reviewing and recommending <br />applications for Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) during fiscal years 2010 <br />through 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined that the City of North Olmsted qualifies for <br />CDBG funds; and <br />WHEREAS, the Citizens Advisory Committee has submitted a report to this Council <br />recommending the above entitled project, which involves ongoing streetscape and additional <br />safety improvements to Country Club Boulevard; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of <br />Planning and Development to make application for said CDBG partial funding for said project, <br />to authorize the use of matching funds for construction costs and an additional presently <br />undetermined amount for project administration costs, and to authorize the Mayor to accept the <br />CDBG grant if awarded. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to prepare, sign and submit an application for Community Development Block <br />Grant funds for fiscal year 2012 on behalf of the City of North Olmsted for the Country Club <br />Streetscape and Safety Enhancements, Phase II project in the maximum amount; does further <br />authorize the use of matching City funds for the project as described in the application, for <br />construction costs and an additional amount as yet undetermined for project administration costs; <br />and finally does authorize the Mayor to accept the grant and execute a contract and any and all <br />other necessary papers, if a grant is awarded.
