CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2012 - 37 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE ABOLISHING CHAPTER 1331 OF THE B UILDING <br />CODE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ENTITLED "DANGEROIIS <br />OR UNSAFE B UILDINGS"AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, a comprehensive re-write of the property maintenance ordinances of the <br />City of North Olmsted includes, among other things, consolidation of obligations into one <br />location of the codified ordinances; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Administration that Chapter 1331 of the <br />Building Code of the City of North Olmsted be abolished and consolidated into a new and <br />revised Chapter 1363 of the Building Code of the City of North Olmsted entitled "Property <br />Maintenance," and <br />WHEREAS, Ordinances 88-66 and 2008-73 collectively created Chapter 1331 of the <br />Building Code entitled "Dangerous and Unsafe Buildings," and <br />WHEREAS, consistent with the recommendation of the Mayor, it is the desire of this <br />Council to abolish and eliminate Chapter 1331 from the Building Code. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 1331 of the Building Code established via ordinances 88-66 <br />and 2008-73 (collectively know as Chapter 1331 of the Building Code) be, and the same hereby <br />is abolished, repealed, void and of no effect. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately so as to permit <br />prompt, clear and efficient enforcement of property maintenance in the City of North Olmsted, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />r <br />PASSED: `?-- <br />? ? <br />First Reading.• /_? 4-10 1 "L <br />Second Reading: f !;- Pat"L <br />Third Reading: <br />Committee: 240 <br />ATTEST.•
