CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 45 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UY ION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A <br />CONTRACT TO PROVIDE NEW GATEWAY SIGNAGE AT VARIOUS <br />LOCATIONS IN THE CITY, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON <br />FILE IN THE PLANMNG DEPARTMENT, AND A UTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL TO <br />CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has developed and implemented an identity <br />program which resulted in the creation of a new and revised City emblem; and <br />WHEREAS, gateway signs at various locations within the City are in need of <br />replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the aclministration to replace gateway signage with signage <br />incorporating the new City embleni; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the gateway signage program, the changeable typeface sign at <br />the City Hall Complex (Dover Center Rd. and Lorain Rd.) also will be replaced with a digital <br />sign in order to provide timely community information to passers by; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid the gateway signage <br />program (including digital sign) have been prepared by the Planning Department and are on file <br />in said Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to advert-Ise for bids for the award of a contract to provide gateway signage at <br />various locations in the City, as set forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the <br />Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COL'NCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide new gateway signage <br />(including digital sign) at various locations in the City, as detailed in the specifications now on <br />file in the Planning Department, and that further; the Mayor, following approval by the Board of
