CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 62 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A <br />CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE <br />NORTH OLIVISTED PARK STORMWATER DEMONSTRATION PROJECT, <br />AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICA TIONS ON FILE IN THE <br />ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, <br />FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL TO CONTRACT <br />FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted was awarded a Surface Water Improvement Fund <br />(SWIF) grant in the amount of $161,659.00 by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency <br />(OEPA) for the North Olmsted Park Stormwater Demonstration Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Project involves partial pavement replacement within the Park with <br />permeable pavers, rain collection systems and bio-retention gardens; and <br />WHEREAS, under the terms of the 2010 S WIF grant cycle, the City must contribute any <br />costs incurred beyond the award; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid the Stormwater <br />Demonstration Project have been prepared and are maintained by the Engineering Department; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for construction of the <br />Stormwater Demonstration Project in the City Park, as set forth in said specifications, and to <br />further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control, to enter into a contract <br />with the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to provide for the Stormwater <br />Demonstration Project in the City Park, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the <br />Engineering Department, and that further, the Mayor, following approval by the Board of Control <br />is hereby authorized to execute a contract on behalf of the City with the lowest and best bidder.
