CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 106 <br />By: Mayar Kennedy <br />A RESOL UTION A UTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SER VICE TO <br />ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 5,000 TONS OF STONE FOR <br />VARIOUS SERVICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE CITY AS <br />DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE, FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDER TO PURCHASE SAID STQNE, AFTER BOARD OF CONTROL <br />APPROVAL, AND DECLARINGANEMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Service has advised this Council that it is necessary to <br />purchase 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications for said stone, as prepared under the direction of the <br />Service Department of the City of North Olmsted, are on file in the Service Director's Office; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City, and <br />to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder to purchase said <br />stone, after Board of Control approval; and <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for <br />bids for 5,000 tons of stone for various Service Department needs throughout the City in accordance with <br />the specifications now on file in the Service Director's Office, and further that, upon approval by the <br />Board of Control, the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract and execute the same on behalf of the <br />City of North Olmsted with the lowest and best bidder. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further far the reason that it is <br />necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to purchase seasonal supplies, and <br />further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: hyj )4 b&.,, ??? ) ',?_ <br />First Reading: 0/ 1 (D ) I d- <br />Second Reading: U J1- 1 <br />Third Reading.• _ <br />Committee: <br />ATTEST.•
